Anabel's Opening Week

Last Wednesday, Anabel's Grocery opened for the semester! We have a lot of new and returning customers come by and get themselves a whole assortment of groceries! It was very delightful to see them enjoy and find out what the store has to offer.


We couldn't have done it without the Anabel's staff, though. They provided a warm welcome to each and every customer, made sure the place was in pristine condition, and blessed the store with their incredible efforts!


It's nice to come here after all my classes are done for the day and go through a shift with people while simultaneously checking out the store. My favorite part is interacting with the customers, whether it's small talk or a more engaging chat. When I was checking out a customer at the register, we talked about the fact that it's their first time being there and their plans of making cinnamon pancakes for breakfast tomorrow. I was very curious after that conversation, so I asked everyone who was buying a bunch of items what they were planning to make. I heard a lot of different responses, which was so fun and gave me ideas on what to cook and bake in the future.

Another prospect that I enjoyed was talking to the people on my shifts. I have a naturally low social battery, but I think it flipped when I started my shifts. Learning about music tastes, seeing what products piqued our interest, and overall helping each other made all our shifts easier. I believe this is a shared experience between all our staff, whether they're a newcomer or a returnee. Our community is meant to nurture one another and that's what we're here to do! Of course, we couldn't forget about you, our reader. You help keep Anabel's running, whether you engage with our blogs, interact with our socials, or shop at Anabel's, every effort means a lot for us and we hope to make your experience at Anabel's Grocery better than the last one!
